Hasegawa 1/48 F/A18F Super Hornet Aircraft Model Kit The Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet gets the kit treatment from Hasegawa in 1:48 scale. The top of the sturdy 10-1/2" x 16-1/2" box has a real nice painting of an F/A-18F in flight shown in the colourful squadron markings of the 'Jolly Rogers'. The side panel shows a built-up sample of the kit, also in the 'Jolly Rogers' markings. When you open the box, you will find three clear bags of parts molded in flash-free, gray and clear styrene plastic, along with four black poly caps. Two really good, seated crew figures are provided, which may explain why no harnesses are supplied for the four- part ejection seats. There are no photo-etched parts included in the kit. All parts feature beautiful delicately scribed engraved panel lines; some so fine that I am afraid that they will not hold a wash well. The clear parts appear to be well molded and scratch-free, probably due to the way that Hasegawa has designed their carrying sprue and placed them in their own plastic bag. Hasegawa has become a leader in scale plastic kits by producing highly detailed models that impress the most demanding hobbyists. Because of the accuracy found in such areas as cockpits, interiors, engines, weapon bays and aircraft wheel bays, many Hasegawa models are built by professionals for museum displays.
